Hey folks. I'm the host of The Voice Behind (the second interview cited) and wanted to dip in to say thanks for listening! I'm glad you dug the show, Stephen was a great guest who we'll be definitely having back on someday. If you guys have questions for him, or any suggestions on who you'd like on the show, just drop me a line.
Thanks again!

My heart skipped a beat when I heard Karras. :D

The Fancy Pants interview was great. I guess I wouldn't have expected him to remember so many details about working on games that are over a decade old. It shows that they're important to him, which as a fan myself is really nice to hear.

These interviews were great, I missed them the first time. It's cool to hear him talking in a casual environment and not officially working. He sounds like he'd be a fun guy to just hang out with. Funny to hear him swear too.
I wonder if he charges for these interviews? Maybe he just does them for a bit of self promotion. It would be cool to collect questions from the TTLG community and do a Q&A with him - I wonder if he'd be up for that? Although these interviews were interesting, they kind of focus on Fallout. I'd love to hear more about the old days at LGS, and some of the projects that never happened like Deep Cover, The Crossing, and stuff that didn't work for him out like Thief 2014 and Bioshock Infinite.
It's also great to see that his workload in gaming seems to be increasing with roles in Dishonored 2/Prey/Underworld, and the new indie Zed. Seems logicial that he'll end up working on SS3 too.

Wasn't he the voice of those great creepy robots in SS2 (?) "How can I help you if you hide?"
Maybe they'll be back.

That's the best idea I've heard in a while. Can it be done? I don't think collecting questions from the TTLGeers would be a problem, but contacting Mr. Russell, not to mention organizing the interview, certainly would.

I don't even expect an interviewer to have played all of the guests games, but the least he could have done is put some effort in and did some good research on his subject before ummming and awwing his way through the interview. I find it so disrespectful toward the guest when interviewers can't be bothered. I would love to have heard some background on the test recording sessions for Thief 2014, how they arrived at the grittier voice he used, and if there had actually been more recorded...etc.
I thought that Stephen Russell didn't do the voice work in Thief 2014. IIRC he declined the offer.

Eidos Montreal ditched Stephen Russell, because they wanted the voice actor to do their own mo-cap stunts.

As if that added anything meaningful to the game.

This was awesome, shame the interviewer is clueless when it comes to thief and all the work Stephen has done...

Yeah, I haven't listened to it all yet, but it sounds like he could've benefited from doing a little more research. Only mentioning that Stephen voiced Garrett; not knowing he voiced several other characters. Only saying he was on Thief 1 and 2, not 3; didn't even know Thief 3 existed... let a lone a Thi4f. Didn't bother to watch any Thief gameplay videos, at the very least, to hear his voice(s) there. Thinking his first game with Bethesda was Oblivion, etc.
When interviewing an actor, I think it would benefit any journalist to look at IMdB at the very least before the interview... or at least have it up while interviewing... to not ask questions anyone can easily look up within 2 seconds, to show a little more respect to the actor, and to not have to awkwardly reveal to the actor you're kind've unprepared.
