When I was younger, my friends and I agreed that any behaviour, no matter how inappropriate, could be excused so long as the perpetrator of said behaviour was sufficiently drunk. "Hey, fuck it, I was drunk," became the all-purpose "Get Out Of Jail Free" card we each carried wherever we went.
In your case, I'd suggest a bit of a twist to the phrase - "Hey, fuck it, I was on INTERNET" - and a little less concern about it all. Nobody really gives a shit anyway, and it's not as though Convict is going to show up on your doorstep one day to punch you out for being an asshole.
ulterior motive: i'm encouraging the "don't worry about it" approach at least in part because your IED-like outbursts can be hilariously entertaining, and I'd hate to see this place get dull because everyone starts behaving rationally all of a sudden.
