Yeah, it's been written with Doom 3 in mind...but what's said can really be applied to the general mapping process. Even if you think you're a pro, it might be good to give it a glance over and see if you learn something new.

Nothing much new, but a re-affirmation of old ideas can be good.
And I agree with the sketching rather than mapping out first - things change too much as I go along for a detailed map to work.
