That
is a stupid exmple.
Could you explain to me what is the subject of this thread?

Let's imagine two girls who have had to have their legs amputated. Which one would you rather live with, the one with augmented legs or the wheel-chair bound one?
I know my answer is not politically correct, but the sad truth is there is almost no chance at all I will ever fall in love with a girl who had her legs amputated.

This is a genuinely great trailer with some believable, effective media fearmongering. I don't expect the game to live up to it, but wow, if it had this sort of paranoid edge, it would be the best thing since the original DX.

Not even if she had awesome augmentation replacements?

I think that some people in this thread are asking for utter realism when Deus Ex has had a large streak of stylisation from the beginning. (I mean, trenchcoats? Sunglasses?) The video takes an exaggerated view of the transhumanist future, but that's a valid stylistic choice. To my mind, saying, "I wouldn't tap *that* ass!" and treating this as valid criticism is a bit like poopooing Frankenstein because you can't bring dead human matter to life with a lightning bolt.

Awesome? If you think that an "awesome" piece of technology can enhance the value of someone, I'd say you don't think that person has much value anyway. Love is a word which means a lot of different things, but the love I might have for someone is a very different emotion than the love I might have for a piece of technology. And they don't mix. Prosthetics will indirectly lessen the loss of value due to missing body parts, but nothing more.

And can you describe what this "transhumanist future" will be like? Because obviously everyone has his own personal vision of it. It goes from fake boobs and plastic surgery to robot-like people. It's very difficult to have a discussion if the subject is not clearly defined.

You're obviously welcome to your opinion, and it's fair not to like the video - but this question makes me think you either don't get what speculative fiction and sci-fi do or you've got such specific requirements of the genre that it excludes the majority of what the genre produces.
@Matthew: Yeah, I did had a distinct feeling of deja vu there...

Papy, with agonisingly specific requirements for something to be considered 'correct'? Perish the thought.

Personally I found this video much more interesting and cooler than Square Enix's aforementioned low budget short film.

Hmmm I don't know about that. I used to think the same, but then I would fall for girls that were initially in my "no chance in hell" zone...
