I thought the support for anything newer than an Audigy was pretty much nil in Linux? I was asking a friend about a possible replacement for my craptastic AC97 (works fine in Windows due to DirectSound's superb software amplification, but it's crackly as hell in Linux if you don't use your external hardware exclusively) and he said the later Creative generations have practically no driver support. :erg:
