Log: 3d hardware initialization failed
The error you printed here is identical to the one I received. What type of Video Card and Motherboard do you have Kark? This problem was solved for me when I installed my motherboards Via 4 in 1 drivers. If you have a different chipset there are probably similar drivers.
I had forgotten to install them after my reformat, without them I do not have full access to the AGP 8X functions. Games seem to work fine without them but the editor is very fussy.
Worth looking into. ;)

EDIT: I just read Horizons post. But i didnt really understand his solution...
Do you know if your motherboard uses a VIA chipset or the motherboard brand? I could try to help you find the motherboard chipset drivers...although if you have the motherboard drivers CD for your system, they should be on there.

I'll get you to try this for me. :)
Click start/ run and in the open box type
dxdiag and hit enter.
You will see the Direct X diagnostic tool. It should give you system information.
I'm specifically looking for:
System Manufacturer:
System Model:
Processor:
I'm on the Abit site. Once I have that info I can give you the link to the proper motherboard drivers.

Hmmm, that's odd. Is it just an executable?
