I'm getting an error when running Setup.exe
I've glanced around but can't find any solution to the problem, so please bear with me if this has be solved 100's of times; the error is...
The Win 16 Subsystem has insufficient resources to continue running. click on OK, close your applications, and restart your machine.
any ideas?
Also, yes, I've tried -Lgntforce

Since this is the exact same post as you made in the big tech help thread for SS2, I'll just quote myself:

Give manual install a try. Open up the contents of the CD and look around. You should stumble upon the game files within seconds, you can't miss it. Just copy those into a folder on the hard drive and voila, game has been installed.
But three important notes prior to running it:
1) You are not patched to the latest version. And patching won't work due to a missing registry key that would otherwise be created after normal installation. Search around TTLG, the reg key has been posted many times in the past.
2) Another missing file that is vital to run the game is install.cfg. This, too, has been posted many times before.
If you can't find either of those, then I could just post them myself. Not much of a headache.
And finally,
3) Most likely you are on a modern system. Therefore make any necessary precautions. A good and quick method that fixes quite a few problems (dualcore issue, ugly graphics on newer drivers, etc.) is to install a small proggy called DDfix, there is lots of info about it in this forum, for example installation & usage tips. Take a look around.
