Hi All
I am new to this and have a few questions if anyone could advise me.
I have installed Thief 2 via Tafferpatcher using the original discs and intend to play the original missions and them move onto fan missions, however I am a little bit lost when it come the various addons, do I then need to install the HD texture mod by Gecko along with the Enhancement Pack 2.0 by Nameless Voice?
Also what about New Dark 1.26 do I need to update to this?
And finally will older fan missions run on New Dark?
Thanks

If you've used Tafferpatcher, you should be more or less good to go. The HD mod and Enhancement Pack will make things look better, but they're not entirely necessary. If you picked that option, Tafferpatcher should give you higher resolution textures and better looking models anyway. You can update to NewDark 1.26 if you know what you're doing, otherwise just wait until a new version of Tafferpatcher is released to update. I haven't been playing a lot of really new FMs lately, but that's the only place that you're likely to
need the latest NewDark and even then it's not necessarily required. Fan missions will run under NewDark generally speaking, but some aspects of them can break if they're not updated. Many classic FMs have a NewDark updated version that you should play instead, and for the ones that haven't had such an upgrade dmls are often available. Fortuni's (

Yes you don't need to install anything else really. But if you wanted better graphics you could pick one of HDM (although at present only an incomplete version is available as it is not finished yet) EP2 or NecroAge. But I think you do not mix them. You pick just one of the three to install.
Another option is the Sound Effect Enhancement mod which gives better quality sounds but again not necessary. I think I have seen mods for better quality movies to, but again not needed.

For the love of god, do not install the HD Mod for a first playthrough. It makes significant aesthetic changes, and is crushingly resource-intensive. It's basically Thief's equivalent to HL2's Cinematic Mod.
The Enhancement Pack, on the other hand, is probably a safe bet for a first play. It sticks pretty slavishly to the original art, just upping the texture resolution and model detail.
