In this case--society has truly suffered a loss. A defendant of free-speech, and an amazing intellect (after forgiving him for Bill and Ted) whom will be deeply missed.
There will be no Bill and Ted (or Rufus Dude) hating in my TTLG. :nono:

Bill and Ted requite only excellence
RIP Carlin, not only was he a fantastic comedian but also a trenchant societal observer who dealt in the kind of truths that would make one cry IF YOU WEREN'T TOO BUSY LAUGHING LOL
but seriously folks huge loss

Seven words? Okay...
Never seen him outside Bill and Ted.
Shadow Creepr on 24/6/2008 at 08:54
Scots, my husband didn't know about him either so I guess he didn't get much coverage in the UK.
For me and my brothers, we had the record (Class Clown) with the seven words you can't say but I don't think my Mom was ever within listening range. ;)
RIP

Well, definitely check out his rant on religion in the link above. Also of note are the 7 words bit, "Stuff", and his more recent one on corporate airline lingo ("what the fuck is a 'landing procedure' - either we're landing or we're not...etc.)
To be honest, Eddie Izzard is the only comedian to really nail irony as well as Carlin (though Carlin arguably has been off his game the last decade or so). Like Stitch said, great social observations that really made you think about things you just don't want to deal with.

Well that sucks.
Can't really think of anything to say. All the emo crap would seem to be against what he preached.
Fuck everyone?

Tonight they're airing the very first episode of SNL, with guests George Carlin and Billy Preston. Just a heads up.

I absolutely loved his rant on religion. Great guy.
