It's land theft. I know wokeys like you can't resist using words from the woke playbook. "Colonialism" is the latest effort from the Islamic extremists and they've successfully utilised the woke mind virus to embed it in the brains of their useful idiots.
FWIW I do not agree with the building of settlements in the WB and,
AGAIN, must tell you that I think all Israel settlers should be evacuated from the WB and the entirety of the WB given to the Palestinians. I also think the Gaza Strip should be rebuilt and the Gazans should return there. We should be trying for peace, not your anti-semitic whining.
So you actually don't have any arguments against it, do you? Yes, colonialism is land theft, to put it in extremely basic terms, but I guess you can't really expect more from someone who can only trot out some cliched buzzwords when attempting to insult someone. Systemic land theft, backed up by state violence, is one of the main features of colonialism. But I guess genocide is simply killing to you, ethnic cleansing is simply removal of people, etc.

Why does it have to be a pinky promise? Why can it not be the plan? When my house was built I lived in an apartment until it was finished. But it was always going to be mine.
Why do you always think the worst possible motives of everybody?
Because we aren't remotely as thick as you're suggesting we should be. I mean, it's impressive that you think we should trust Trump on literally anything, let alone a Trump and Benny land grab peace jig, and I'm sure your reasoning for it will be fantastical enough to amaze me even more if you choose to expose it to the naked air.

I don't think he can be trusted, no. But if the deal is agreed properly, legally, it won't be up to him to go back on it.
RippedPhreak on 5/2/2025 at 19:44
Trump saying this is weird and sounds like a stupid idea. I don't know if he's thinking "If these kids can't agree to share the toy I'll take it away from both of them." But that's not going to work out in the long run IMO.
The USA needs to be untangling from foreign messes at this point, not creating more.

Yeah, that's why I'm guessing this is more sabre rattling for leverage. If he's serious, holy shit.
demagogue on 6/2/2025 at 01:53
Leverage for what??? Y'all are speaking as if he gives 2 shits about US interests, or Palestinian or Israelis, or the Middle East.
He cares about developing beach-side condos, period.
There's no "these kids" or "US entanglements" or sabre rattling to it. The question is: Can I develop condos here and make a bucket of cash, like with Greenland, just a simple yes or no will do. No need to bog him down with details about security or national interests or what happens to what people that'll just make his eyes go glassy. We can take care of all those things, sure there's people at risk of dying or something I guess, just move them to some other country, no problems. Just imagine those condos!
FFS have you people learned nothing about Trump after all this time?

Yeah, there's no thought to it outside of dollar signs in Trump's eyes. It's a standard real estate baron move. It certainly takes some kind of advanced mental infirmity to think that he can propose selling condos to the people he's prepared to force out with a straight face (never mind the teensy-tiny issue that these people have been in the middle of a war for the place, or that it immediately pisses off the Arab nations). And obviously Benny sees it as a great opportunity to get the US to do the work for him, as well as legitimise the land grab.
SubEff: legalities haven't stopped Trump from doing whatever the fuck he wanted before, so no, that's not a reason to allow him to do anything at all.
DuatDweller on 6/2/2025 at 09:13
So in addition to being a spoiled rich brat he's going delusional and probably insane?

There is no net profit in it because of the cost to hold and maintain it. I don't think that anybody, even Trump, believes the US would have an easier time there then Israel. The plan is to get neighboring countries to accept Gazans "temporarily" so Israel can have it all, not form a US territory. Even if we do send forces there, it would only be temporary followed by a handover to Israel. A long term US presence there spoils other plans for the region, like containing Iran.
demagogue on 6/2/2025 at 14:53
That's not what Trump said. He said clear the land of Gazans (Q. How many of them? A. all of them) permanently and turn it into the Riviera of the Med. Why would it be temporary? They're like Blacks in US cities for him: the source of the violence. Get rid of them; get rid of the violence for the people that live there. Q. Who is going to live there then? A. The people of the world.
I don't know where you're getting anything you just said from, but that's what Trump was saying.
Plans for the region? Containing Iran? Neighboring countries? Easier time there than Israel? US territory?
Can you not see Trump's eyes getting glassy?
Edit: It's performative, sure, as in it's not going to really happen and is pure political theatre. He doesn't care about the region to even bothering forming a coherent picture of where this place is on a map much less a policy towards it.
He's giving his magic wish list because he's cluster b and can't help milking his oxytocin and dopamine pumps by floating magic wish lists (every partner of a cluster b type especially NPD knows what I'm talking about), and he's controlling the news cycle to distract the basically coup happening in the US with the dismantling of entire agencies and loyalty purges for the ones that are remaining. So even talking about what he was saying in policy or strategic terms is really missing the boat on what's happening I think.
