We have regular visits from Adders, Grass Snakes, Slow Worms and the area between our house and the cliff is a Horseshoe and pipistrellel bat highway at this time of the year :D
What the hell is a 'Slow Worm'? Just the name will give me bad dreams tonight.

I was thinking the same thing. Cute little destructive bugger.

I caught a tiny, tiny mouse in our attic a few months back, I think he got in where the old water tank overflow pipes came out because there certainly wasn't any evidence of them in the actual house.
Cute, but didn't stop me decapitating it with a trap.

There were some monster critters when I lived in southern Japan. I remember a friend who had a big hole in his front door (accidentally kicked in?). Anyway, he put one of those poison-box critter traps right inside the door, a big one, to catch any unwanted visitors that came in. We were visiting and when we opened the door, you could see the marks of a massive spider that had crawled into the box and literally drug itself, box and all, into the next room because his massive legs were sticking out the sides. IIRC it turned around when it heard us coming in. That's about the time we said to our friend "Well, nice knowing you. Gotta go." and got the hell out of there.

I woke up this morning and had a spider on my balls. I watched in fascination as it maneuvered over the rugged terrain, like a Mars Rover, poised at any moment to take a bite.
Eventually he wandered off into the recesses of the bed somewhere, and I haven't seen him since. But imagine, there could be hundreds of those little fuckers, hidden somewhere in the folds, taking scrotal field trips every night while I sleep. Maybe crawling into my ears. One never knows, cause you're asleep.
Just imagine that.
