Hello all. I have recently been having problems with my computer. It runs fine in safe mode but when I boot up windows normally an error message pops up when i get onto the desktop and says i have problems with my SpoolSV and different error numbers appear like 0x10001867, 0x100042ab, 0x000a0084. I think it has something to do with a virus because when ever I run Malwarebytes in safe mode it finds two trojan.vundo which it deletes and then restores when i run windows normally again. I dont have system restore on. In the end a message pops up and says "The Spooler Subsystem App has encountered a problem and needs to close" I don’t have a printer installed on this machine. Also i checked under System in the Event Log and there are lots of Warnings and Errors. I also run AVG, Spybot and Ad-Aware. None of them can find the virus.
So has anyone else encountered an error like this, or have any ideas? if so any advice would be welcome. Thanks.

I would say backup your data and reformat and reinstall and dont bother with AVG as it isn't upto the job.
but that said some taffers on here have managed to successfully remove serious infections like yours and one of them should be along at some point.

I am not against that idea it is about time i done it anyway. I need to get hold of another version of windows because i lost the version that came with my computer. This would be my first time though so im not totally sure how to do it. How would i make a list of what drivers i need to reinstall? and would i need (would it be best to) to wipe the hard drive first? if so how?
I would still like to kill this virus if i can so any info on that still would be great.

Whats the make and model of your laptop and ill find the driver download page for you. And regards the virus, a complete format nukes it 99.99% of the time.
Find a usb stick/drive to backup your data to, but install the antivirus software on your laptop before pluggin said drive in incase any file are infected on the usb drive etc.

Go here: (
http://www.avira.com/en/support/support_downloads.html)
Get yourself the rescue system CD image. It's around 50 MB and updated daily to cover the latest Avira virus patterns. The executable comes with a burn routine. If it fails for your burner, you can opt to create an iso, which you will have to burn with whatever software you have.
Once you burned the CD, boot your computer from it. It's a simple Linux-based AV scanner. Since there's no infected Windows running during the scan, the Vundo virus can't hide any longer.

What's wrong with AVG, exactly? I've been using it for a while and it's caught a few viruses, but when I try to search for comparison tests I can't find any. Is there any data to indicate which free anti-virus is worth using?

As for the Spooler problem, if it isn't connected to your virus and if you haven't got a printer then I'd be inclined to try going to Start>Run, type: services.msc - look for Print Spooler and stop the service.
but, in some instances windows requires the spooler service to be running regardless.
