you know star wars isn't real right? like it didn't really happen, yeah? you know ewoks don't live in trees but in brothels frequented by sick, geeky perverts like you go to violate them? you know indiana jones is only partially based on fact, right? like he was actually in league with the nazis and actually that time he was tied up to that pole was actually a sick sadomasochistic ritual that got cut from the final reel when Indy stuck some very large spikes up the whinging tarts tradesman's entrance then used his whip to tame her vagina monster? right?

There are 2 types of Star Wars canon (well more actually but let me explain)... and this is a very condensed version of Lucas's current policy (this all came about recently):
G-Level Canon = Stuff made by Lucas himself. Highest level of canon.
C-Level Canon = Stuff made by other people with Lucas's permission (liscensed stuff)
N-Level Canon = Ie: "Non-Canon" this refers to the first 20 chapters of "Star Wars Tales" and "Infinities" ("what if?" speculative stuff) and any fan fics or other unliscensed works.
S-Level Canon = stuff that hasn't been categorized yet. So really new or really obscure stuff.
God, I am so embarrassed to be a Star Wars fan right now. Man, are Star Wars nerds actually worse than Trekkies?
(Btw, I did cut and paste the above, I did NOT memorize it!).
I think the most hilarious thing about the original post is that someone thought it would be "really interesting" for the general population here. This is hard-core Star Wars nerddom, and belongs in a similar forum elsewhere.

There should be A-Level canon. Anything included in episodes 4-6 and the KOTOR/JK series.

Ex.: The same people who just came from discussing the deeper meaning of an old Doom comic may find it way below their standard to talk about a fictional Star Wars timeline.

Your self-appointed charge of leading a crusade to right the wrongs of commchat is going to get you a one-way ticket to the elysium fields where GoodStuff and other ill-advised forumers have ventured, never to return.
