Where's that?
The early-draft script? I (iirc) got it from script-o-rama.com from downloading spree; didn't even notice I had it until later. But it's not there now. So I'm thinking when they started filming they asked him to take it down.
The title makes me think that the artifact or whatever he's after will be different, but the basic conceit of the story is there ... at least as far as I know; I didn't read far and don't want to read a word more.
The new title sounds to me like they are reprising the sound of the original: IJ and the Raiders of the Lost Ark -> IJ and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. They have the same vibe, the same cadence "... and the --- of the --- ---".
It's sort of a way to bring things full-circle with the series, maybe.

You guys suck. I quite liked Temple of Doom. The opening sequence, the mine chase, the bridge. Also, in that title's defense it was originally called "Temple of Death" but I think they thought that was too rough.
Kingdome of the Crystal Skull, ok I'll see it anyway as long as there isn't Billy Zane it purple tights. I'm sorry but that title conjours up The Phantom movie for me.

You take that back. You take that back right now.

Though Lucas' involvement does not bode well, I'll still go see the movie. The IJ movies were and still are classics imho.
So Ford's going to portray an Indie who's in his late 40's? For cryin' out loud! The guy's 65! Unfortunately I fear that pancake makeup won't be able to disguise that fact. I just hope they don't make a mockery of our beloved Indie by having him try to pull off stunts like he did 20 years ago.

I'm going to reiterate that Lucas, supposedly, has had more involvement in this one than any of the others. He was also the one who seems to have chosen the MacGuffin, while everyone else thought it was a bad idea.
I adore the Indiana Jones movies, but the odds are stacked heavily against this one being any good.

I actually have a very soft spot for Temple of Doom and IMO it's not actually any better or worse than The Last Crusade, despite Connery. I love Indy's dark turn, I love the mine shaft sequence, I love the insect-hole with the crushing ceiling scene, I love the opening sequence (
too much to drink, Dr Jones?), and some of the action is brutal. The only part that really lets it down is the whole terrible Indian culture bit, but that's made up for by
snake surprise and
monkey brains.

What I remember is being on my bike, on a curb, stopping at my buddy's house, and he runs out and starts telling us, breathless, "oh man ... I just saw the new Indiana Jones! Man, this priest guy, he ties some guy up, lays his hand over his chest, and pulls out his HEART, MAN!! He pulls out they guy's still-beating HEART, and the guy is screaming!" And we're all like "No, way! It keeps beating!?" "Yeah! And then they lower him into a pit of fire and the heart starts beating faster and faster, cause the guy is scared, and then it CATCHES ON FIRE, MAN!! His heart catches on fire when he reaches the lava! And the priest guy is laughing" "No way!"
Haha ... pure, distilled childhood awesome.
Of course, nothing can beat having Raiders on VHS and watching it literally almost every day for an entire summer.
