http://img372.imageshack.us/img372/526/welcometaearfgy3.gifWELCOME TA EARFFantastic draft, it needs tidying and generally a good deal of tightening (a bit too many references to the previous movies, too many characters, and "Adventure
had/still has a name" is diabolical), but it's easily ten times the movie I saw.
Although the alien gubbins at the end is still pretty out there
(the saucer blowing up, I mean), the manner in which it's handled (plus Indy being instrumental to the downfall/resolution) is just so vastly superior that it boggles my mind.

This really just makes it so much worse than it already was.

haha well played sir
While I'll confess rejected drafts (or drafts-in-progess) can be an interesting peek behind the creative curtain, they really don't amount to much. Darabont's script may be superior, but to compare a single draft favorably to a completed film shows a pretty severe misunderstanding of the filmmaking process.
Don't get me wrong: a better script is a better script, and a better script is definitely the preferred starting point, but a starting point is all it is.
Also, the last thing we need is hobby-as-identity internet nerds creating another what-could-have-been holy grail that clouds the merits (or lack thereof) of the actual product.
By all accounts Superman 2 was actually pretty good.
