What's interesting is that apparently Darabont's script - which Speilberg thought was the best IJ script yet - hasn't been completely jettisoned as suggested when Lucas rubbished it, but rather they've taken the core elements of that script (which involved the Ark and Marion in a full circleish concept) and added whatever shit it was Lucas felt needed to be there too (as he has the character/story rights), probably an alien sidekick that was eventually downgraded to a kid sidekick (short round was probably his fucking idea).
I remember hearing that he didn't like the dialog between Indy and his dad. Funny, since Sean Connery won't come out of retirement to do Indy 4. What really scares me about this movie is the fact that Lucas has had more involvement in this movie than any of the others.

It's amazing that people keep making the same jokes. It may be true, but that doesn't mean that the same joke repeated a zillion times is very funny... What next - jokes about Duke Nukem Forever?
I think you mean Duke Nuke For
never. Man I'm just a comedic gold mine today!

Since Lucas turns everything he touches to shit nowadays, that pretty much ruins whatever hope I could have for that flick. Which to be honest, wasn't a lot to begin with.

Happy. :D

Second Haegan. The gut on Ford doesn't bother me so much; afterall, some men do get a little paunchy with age and it is Harrison Ford afterall - so who cares. It's refreshing to hear that they're not going to try to make a middle-aged Indie behave as though he was in his early thirties again; Willis just pulled it off by the skin of his teeth in DH4. Hopefully they'll not try to pair Ford up with a woman half his age who looks like she just stepped off the pages of Vogue. If Karen Allen does make a comeback in this one (and not just a cameo) then it should be interesting; I always thought she was a perfect match for Indie. And I much preferred her tough-girl attitude in Raiders to Kate Capshaw's incessant screaming and oh-help-me-I'm-a-damsel-in-distress character in Temple of Doom.
And I sincerely hope they don't let Lucas have too much input with the script, either. His CGI may be brilliant, but his skill at directing actors positively sucks. No really.

Awesome. I was starting to think that it was too late to revive the series. I have a "gut feeling" that they will do a really good job with this one.

I'm waiting for this since 1993 when Lucas allegedly hired Philip Kaufman and later Frank Darabont to make the screenplay. Obviously L&S were preoccupied by other projects last dozen of years.
If somebody can't imagine how may Ford look in the movie, look at these pics. He had a small cameo in The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles' episode "Mystery of the Blues" where he played 50-something old Indiana Jones.

http://uashome.alaska.edu/~jndfg20/website/ford.jpgHe managed to shoot that role around the time when he was making The Fugitive, so he obviously used Dr.Kimble's beard for this purpose.
Hopefully the movie won't be as much focused on Indy's interest in blues like that incredibly boring episode was. Doesn't he look funny with that saxophone?

I don't think his CGI is that great either. The Star Wars prequels had some embarrasingly bad effects - some of it looked worse than that added to the original trilogy.

Much like a reunion of any once-great long dormant band, this movie is a horrible idea.
