Is there a website anywhere that exclusively features pics of Kate Blanchett getting slugged in the face? That would be better than porn to me.

AICN has some early reviews, largely negative in nature.

Looks like the trailers are more exciting than the actual movie...
not that I am surprised...

Be warned, some of those reviews are spoilerific.

Good thing they are relying on classic stuntwork. The only CGI will be in mattes and minor cosmetic corrections like erased wires. It will be refreshing to see some honest filmmaking paid with pain and accidents, for a change.

AICN is going to have the same hang ups with this movie as they did with the Star Wars prequels, and as they will with the X-Files, or Alvin and the fucking Chipmunks. They review a movie intended for 13 year olds and bitch because it doesn't have a deep, character driven script, it has too many CGI explosions, blah blah. They'll expect to love the new X-Files just as much as they used to love it when they were in their 20's, and they won't. No one will. These nostalgia movies aren't meant to add some new brilliant angle to the franchise. They're made for money, and the only way to enjoy them is to sit back and watch the things without comparing them to recent Oscar fare or whatever the hell it is they expect them to be.

If they're made for money only, then enjoying them is difficult unless you just shut your brain off.
I want to see Indiana Jones, not only for the nostalgia factor but because I like the character and I want to see new adventures. I don't ask for
The Unbearable Lightness of Being, I ask for Indy fracking Jones. If all I get is Harrison Ford going through the motions to collect a paycheck, then thanks, but no thanks.
Bah, who am I kidding, I know I'm gonna see it anyways...

Actually, I think AICN regular writers are pretty fair in their assessments, it's the scoopers and Talkbackers that are an entirely different story. But it wouldn't be AICN Talkback without it all going titsup from the second comment on.

FYI the negative reviews were external viewing scoops, not staff reviews

I'd add that the case of Star Wars was a bad example imo anyway, Lucas fucked everything up not because he made new movies, but because he destroyed continuity by retconning and rewriting so much of the established canon that what's left was barely recognizable, and he tried to cover it up with loads of CGI. Star Wars is the Michael Jackson of movies.
