What? Who didn't like it? I like all of them, just not equally.

Sacrilege, I know, but I think The Last Crusade has aged even better than Raiders.

Last Crusade will probably always be my favourite. Mostly because it's the only one I saw in its original theatrical run, and I think the River Phoenix young Indy sequence is pretty great.

While I think Raiders is the best movie out of the three, in terms of direction, story and acting, I think that all three movies are actually very close in terms of their action, comic and dramatic merits. I love many, many scenes from all three movies and can enjoy each of them immensely, I love how certain jokes build upon previous events, and I love the recurring characters that add so much to a continuing franchise. On that note, I'm a little sad to not see the characters of Marcus Brody and Sallah in this one.
And yes, the (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otYcIuILrJ) River Pheonix sequence was something special - the segue from the hat being put on his teenage head to the older Indy was a masterful touch, in particular. Plus, it always makes me sad that Pheonix died so young.

Petition to change it to City of the Gods!
I fully and wholeheartedly vote
against this. Far too similar to (
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0317248/) another film.

I agree. The River Phoenix flashback scene was perhaps one of the main areas within the trilogy where I felt 'connected' to Indy (along with other areas, natch) and made him seem like a family member or something. This is why I know that, regardless of how good or bad Indy 4 is, I will watch it, buy it, re-watch it and be happy.
And another thing... did anyone watch the Shia LaBeouf interview on the official site ((
http://www.indianajones.com/site/index.html) look at the last video in the video section)? I appreciate he had a childhood love if Indy, along with the rest of us, but does he really think sounding like a pre-pubescent fanboy rather than a mature Indy sidekick will help to sell the movie? Hmph.

I'm going to reiterate that Lucas, supposedly, has had more involvement in this one than any of the others. He was also the one who seems to have chosen the MacGuffin, while everyone else thought it was a bad idea.
I adore the Indiana Jones movies, but the odds are stacked heavily against this one being any good.
My prediction is that Lucas will rape this movie, just as he sodomised Star Wars with eps 1-3.
