Well, the last Rambo movie was actually pretty awesome.
Thats true, but I thought its the perfect end for the rambo series. However, if R5 is going to be as interesting as the last one, why not?
But if Sly screws it up this time it would leave a bitter taste in the mouth.:erg:

Still carrying that torch, BEAR? :D
You pretty much expunged that phrase from my vocabulary, you know. But that 80s era popcorn fare IS dead as a doornail, man.

Although I didn't care much for the Crystal Skull, I'm excited about the prospect of #5. Harrison Ford is still undeniably a credible Indiana Jones even in his advancing years, unlike other series which went a bit too far (Star Trek VI, the Geriatric Circus, anyone?); for me the increased grumpiness of the character only adds to Indy's appeal.
Even if the plot is wafer thin and aliens come back, Harrison is Indy, he makes me laugh, jump up and down with glee and I'll pay to watch it.
Seriously though guys, don't bring back the aliens.

Bitch, you better not be dissing Star Trek VI

There's something on this one, yes... Crystal Skull has been slammed by critics, so what. Time will prove it's a worthy IJ sequel, I'm sure of it. Everytime there was a new Indy film it's been slammed by about the same segment of critics for it's light script and bizarre features. These critical voices make sense in case of Temple of Doom which has been very weak plot-wise. But nevermind that. What's been done in all Indy films in framework of it's own fantasy adventure subgenre works sufficiently as a lighthearted amusement without looking way too stupid. Afterall the stories are written by experienced craftsmen who have sufficiently good taste to know what is 'too much' and know where to draw a line.
But IJ films are such a strong feature of 1980s popcorn cinema that more IJ films may look funny today. I mean, Crystal Skull has been made out of nostalgia by the filmmakers and the main target audience were again nostalgic fans. An Indiana Jones film without it's typical 1980s popcorn cinema look and feel isn't a proper Indiana Jones film. But if more similar IJ films come out at this time, this may eventually seriously embarass the series. No matter that we experience partial revival 1880s popculture revival. Crystal Skull looked like a decent ending of the series. I'd say they should leave it at that and don't push their luck, otherwise the magic of Indiana films (featuring vital, but obviously aging Ford) may wear off, look ridiculous and it won't be a nice phenomenon to observe.

What reminds me that that the Holy Grail apparently didn't work on him. Or did it.

Wasn't it that it only worked as long as you stayed in the temple?

That's cheating. :erg:

Don't be so naive.

Ha ha ha. This is
exactly what has already happened with Crystal Skull.
Let me tell you something - watched Twilight on the flight back from Taiwan (in my defense I watched all the films as they are on stream, including the awful Max Payne, about 8 films in all) and I enjoyed that more than Indy 4. Seriously, its a better film. It might not be your choice of subject matter but I'm going to put my neck out here and say the truth; its much better than Indy 4. Indy 4 was a cinematic disaster.
