Ok, i formatted by comp and backed up SS2 (i wouldn't dare leave my computer spare of SS2) but of coarse i lost all reg settings and the indeo codec, which means it now doesn't work. But thats ok because the directory was a complete mess (everything was extracted). So i deleted it and reinstalled it. Now i know the 'getting SS2 working on XP' drill, done it 100 times.
When i run the game it'll check for CD (i killed safedisc coz it doesn't work under XP) and then it'll proceed to load the menu, but it just CTDs with the usual XP error before it even loads.
I've nailed it down to it being the Indeo codec because it gives me the same error when i try to play the cutscenes by them selves.
Yes i've tryed installed IV5PLAY.EXE.
Yes i've tryed regsvr32 "d:\sshock2\LGVID.AX".
I have a feeling the indeo codec is corrupted so i want to uninstall it but i have no idea how. :P
Any suggestions would be grand.

Bump again because it kinda worked for me.
Once I deleted the above files and reinstalled IV5 from the "Classics" SS2 CD the vids would play in MS MediaPlayer but not in the game.
Still working on the in-game problem...
EDIT: I feel like a retard because I didn't investigate this before posting but... I ran the "regsvr32 .\lgvid.ax" command after I did the above fix and it worked like a charm for me.

Remember to do that again before you fight the end boss. ;)

mr_fosi, you shouldn't bump very old threads just because the solutions worked for you. If you found them, anyone else can find them too if they know how to use the Search function.
