Saw the track you liked was by Eric B. He did all the Thief music too. Check out the Thief music if you already haven't. :)
edit - oh yeah, The Matrix had a soundtrack released, and has a lot of ambient like you're describing. It's not the musical soundtrack, but the movie soundtrack for The Matrix. I have it here somewhere. Maybe I'll have to upload you a couple samples.

The Butthole Surfers recorded an instrumental called "The Legless Eye" that is exactly the sort of thing you're looking for. If you're in the right mood it's a quite unsettling song, I've often thought of editing it into a 45 min. loop to use in the haunted house I plan to build some day. It's only available as a bootleg as it's never been officially released, but I have a copy if you're interested.

Some of the ambients (not the orchestral pieces) from the Hitman game series by Jesper Kyd also match the mood of the SS2 sample.

The Terminator's Tunnel Chase track is somewhat similar to some of the Terra Nova tracks. Especially the explor/peril tracks. Check the 'sara' track(s).

Really bad download speeds on the terra nova stuff currently. But I`ll download a few and see how they sound :).
Was a big fan of the Butthole Surfers years ago. Wasn`t able to find it on limewire sadly. Will see if any websites have a sample.

Listening to 2nd Terra Nova song now. Excellent stuff :thumb:.
Its very much along the lines of some tunes I came across by accident when looking for Shadowrun music ages ago, as they were from an album called "Shadowrun" of all things. Very very similar to the 2nd song Karros. Very old school techno in sound (as in late 80s techno which was VERY different in sound to todays techno). The best tracks being "Seattle Override", "Cool Cruise" and "Dream of Electric Sleep". Definately from some sortof album from fans of the Pen and paper game series. Excellent stuff if your into atmospheric type music as well as old school style techno.

io organic industrialism: Had a listen to the 2 tracks you posted. Not bad. Out of the 2, I liked the first one. Only thing that annoyed me about both of them, is that they end just as their getting good.

Hey icemann, I e-mailed you a couple samples from the Matrix movie score. Not sure if you got them, but they are right up your alley.
They were composed by Don Davis.
