My par is definitely better than it should be, because there have been plenty of holes that I've given up out of frustration after 20-30 hits, reopened the game later and done it in 2-3 hits.

300 HOLES IN, BABYYYYYYYY!
Besides that I also had time to play the first 5 hours of TLOU2 and a few rounds of Hardspace:Shipbreaker today. I need to get some scientists in here to extract the GAMER SERUM from my blood and distribute it to the gaming lethargy sufferers in the other thread!!!

So Golf on Mars is just like Desert Golfing only slightly different!
- You no longer reset if you overshoot the screen. You just have to go back the other way.
- Sometimes the next hole is offscreen, meaning you have to do a "drive" and hope for the best.
- Actual curvy bits!
- There are rocks that you can knock over. Sometimes they trap the ball and you cannot progress until you've used up 25 hits and are allowed to skip a hole. This is not great.
- There are cactuses that stop the ball dead if you hit them. These are cool.
- There are wispy clouds that slow the ball down as it passes through.
- The madder, curvier terrain sometimes throws actually physically impossible holes up now. Also not great.
So is it better than Desert Golfing? Yes! No! Maybe?

So I'm to understand there are cacti on Mars but not in the desert?

Alien cacti!
Yeah it improves on Desert Golfing in some good ways, but there's also a few drawbacks, like you mentioned, nicked. The dev mentioned on twitter that in order for the procedural generation to make more interesting landscapes, the occasional impossible hole has been allowed to slip in. I actually didn't know about the "fail 25 times to skip level" thingy first time around so I gave up on hole 300+ and restarted. I'm back up to hole 400 now.
And hey there totally is a cactus in Desert Golfing as well, on hole 700 or something you can see one in the background! >:|

*sighs* Fucking Trump and his fucking wall. Go ahead, there's nothing wrong with killing endangered cactuses that take hundreds of years to grow.
And before anyone tries anything, FOURTH DECLENSION. LOOK IT UP AND GO AWAY.

Hah, yeah I noticed that, but I was TOO MODEST to come right here to brag about it.
