I am a bit bemused as to the confusion of this. To me, it seems perfectly clear he was thinking about the expression "an die Decke gehen", as N'Al noted. Decke correctly translates to ceiling, not roof, by the way. What he meant to say was - to paraphrase a bit - "I'm hitting the ceiling, as you'd say in German".
