Same guy that ate my soul probablly. I've seen the first two, but I'm still not sure whether I've seen Return of the King or not. It's wierd, I know everything that happens in the movie and I haven't read the book, yet I can't recall ever actually watching the movie. :erg:

It's called "falling asleep in the middle of the movie" aka The Two Towers Syndrome.
Scots Taffer on 12/9/2006 at 10:41
Oh fuck you, The Two Towers wasn't only the best theatrical release of the three but the Extended Edition made it beyond superb and actually raised it above reproach. So fuck you, or I'll set Gollum on your ass.

Gollum
Ironically that was the only good thing in the movie. :(

All of you that didn't like the LOTR trilogy are (imo) direly in need of therapy. How in Eru Illuvatar's name could you POSSIBLY fall asleep during ANY of those films??!! Masterpieces!! Works of art!!
I turn my back on the lot of you!
Except Turtle, whom no one should ever turn their back on. (Horny little devil that he is.)
And I mean that in the nicest possible manner. ;)
Seconded agwpt's question.

Plenty of Tolkien fans can't stand the films and don't have a single nice thing to say about them- the scenery is wrong, costumes and music are no good etc.
I liked them, even if one or two things really annoyed me.

For what it's worth, I'm not a distraught Tolkien fan. I loved the Hobbit when I first read it (I was 8 or 9), and then listened to the BBC Dramatization (I cannot spell) of the LOTR books. And then I saw Fellowship of the Ring, and it simply paled in comparison to the radio drama. Also, Arwen and Aragorn should be together forever - IN A GRAVE. SO ANNOYING.

I'm a die-hard Tolkien fan and I enjoyed the movies tremendously. Of course there are things we all wish Jackson would have included or omitted, but the fact remains that given the scope of the trilogy, I think Jackson, cast and crew did a phenomenal job! I think some fans expected too much and were therefore disappointed. I had no expectations so was therefore thrilled by the results (given all the previous attempts at LOTR movies/animated features I was in fact experiencing a certain amount of dread).
Each to their own.
