The new sword blades look a bit too narrow, certainly narrower than the original.
And the gem is missing from handles.

They're real swords with the same dimensions as the other sword models.

But these are sheathed in scabbards, so they ought to appear a bit wider.
Nameless Voice on 25/10/2008 at 19:55
A leather scabbard wouldn't make the blade appear that noticeably wider.
More likely the original texture was simply stretched to cover the size that was given to the weapon display case, even if the original photograph was of a smaller display.

Once upon a time the only knight who had a leather scabbard didn't have a sharp sword.
Besides, the weapons look like ceremonial ones anyway, so I don't think there's need to change the model unless someone wanted to get rid of any non-realistic stuff in general.

Hello, I'm finally playing through THIEF GOLD
and I love the new textures, but sometimes the contrast between new and old completely ruins the immersion:
For example:
In MIssion THe Sword, the part of 4 hallways, one door being real, the others not. Would someone please update that texture to be the same as a regular wooden door?

Another lowpoly models that I've most noticed are the torches, and door handles

I wish that greater fidelity to the original design were maintained. When enhancements make them too different from the original, the objects look out of place in various in-game contexts.
Also, there's one advantage to the objects that use original textures: you could put a lot of them in a row and they wouldn't look *identical* as the renovated ones sadly do. (For example: the new bread.) This is due to the old textures being vague, forcing the player to use his imagination to finalize the details in his mind; these newer, over-detailed versions deplete this effect.
On a different note, what are the odds that someone will make fixed blackjack-hand and sword-hand models, fixing those transparent spots and "missing fingers"?

I feel as though you people are complaining, when you should be thanking Nameless Voice and whoever helped him. I rather like the new models, and yes it's up to taste but they are considerably "nicer" than the originals, how can you deny it?:o
Yes, the blackjack hand has been bothering me for quite some time with the thumb dissapearing behind the blacjack. :weird: As far as the sword-hand, the only problem with it is a slight line on garret's hand, but it's not too big a deal.
