So where would the button be? There's only the one red circle on the original texture, which I took for a button.
ZB - good suggestion. That may be beyond my modeling ability, but I'll give it a shot tonight.

Edit: about the flashbomb; from examning the Thief 2 intro, I'd say that the button and the red light should be separate.
I think this is a case where the cutscenes and the in-game model agree to disagree.

Man, I don't care what anyone says, you guys are doing some great work!:thumb: :thumb:
Nameless Voice: Man that is so cool how you are doing those comparison gif shots...:o I think that is a perfect way of showing the difference.
Also, I never knew you could do that little icon post trick thingamajig... thanks for sharing NV!
That bread looks awesome by the way. the only thing i have to say about it, is that it looks kinda too toasty.:D Other than that, it looks so much better than the old one:)

oh, and if you want a non-modeler's opinion on the flash bomb... I kinda have to agree with everyone that says it should look more like the original.. and I personally think the red button is necessary, seeing as that was part of the original one.

Edit: about the flashbomb; from examning the Thief 2 intro, I'd say that the button and the red light should be separate. That red light looks more like an activaction signal than a button in the video, especially the way it's flashing as if to indicate that the bomb is active.
Oh, I didn't know that... but it seems to me that the object in game (at least thief 1 right?) has the red thing as a button. Or am I missing something? Couldn't it be that the red light is coming from underneath the button, as opposed to having a light and a button separate?

I don't see why the light and button have to be separate. It could easily be a red glass button.

Robots, submarines, and electronics with red LEDs. These are the ways of the Thief Universe. :thumb:

Ambush! cutscene version). Which of course means that it's not quite like any of them, and so there are sure to be many cries of inauthenticity . . .

I like it a lot. You improved the texture since the last shot you sent me in just the way I was going to suggest. :D
You should keep the rusted texture you used earlier in case someone wants a rusted flashbomb, like for an underwater mission. :cheeky:

I think flashmine would look better as a hexagon. There seems to be some kind of vents around the original one too, perhaps the flash isn't coming from a lense but from sides?. Also in original the green plate on top looks more like a fuse that triggers the mine when stepped on.
Gasmine however should be round. That would give some variety and you could easily tell the difference between those two :thumb:.

But I've already made the other mines, and they're both heptagonical . . .
If the green part is the fuse, how come the others don't have it?
Since it uses a texture named 'black.gif' (don't ask me why it's green), I assumed it to be a lens.
