There are probably many things at play here.
I've had some bad experiences myself. Honestly, until it actually happens, it's difficult to know if someone is going to do this to you. The signs aren't always clear that a person is 'that' type of person.
In my own experience, people like this set you up for a fall. They give you a false sense of being special, of being a close friend, and I guess at the time you are...but it's only because 'they need you' and as soon as you are no longer required to fill some need....'splat' you're dropped. Until they decide they need you again. It's really disturbing how one minute people like this make you feel like you're the center of the universe and the next that you don't exist.
The select number of true friends I have are a treasure to me. I don't know if this is just a product of our times, but so many people base their friendships on convenience these days...the moment something isn't perfect, they drop you.
I think it reeks of laziness and cowardice.
Sorry man, but three months is lame. NOBODY is that busy that they can't drop a few lines.

oh fffffssss. I hate it when people think being 'friends' means anything special. The relationship between people is what it is. You get along and like each other to varying degrees, sometimes a lot and it's awesome, sometime's not much and it's, y'know, pleasant and stuff, but not earth-shaking. And sometimes there's sex (special friends), which doesn't hurt. However, because you are 'friends' with someone DOES NOT MEAN THEY OWE YOU A DAMN THING. If someone's not talking to you, they don't want to talk to you. Not much you can or should do about it, it's their choice.
Unrelated, but my coffee tastes like weed. Is that normal?
