Imperial quests ... how is a true imperial soldier to do them? - by Chade

My member of the imperial legion ... going through legion quests and scouring morrowind of smugglers ... but I can't pick locks, and one of the quests I have to do is looking pretty impossible ...
Namely, the one where I have to uncover proof against the empire. I have spent a fortune in bribes but I still have got no-where apart from getting into the secret altar in the barracks. There is a locked chest on that alter ... perhaps I have to unlock it? But I can't unlock locks, my character won't even recognise there is something to unlock, and I can't find any keys for the life of me. Do I need a scroll to open locks? It seems quite an unnecesarily fancy way to accomplsih the quest ...
In short: what is going on???

That lousy lock? It's like lock level 10, ANYONE should be able to pick it. There's also plenty of scrolls. Locked items are something that you are going to have to be able to get in to in this game, if you don't want to get security skill, pick up scrolls of unlock, or learn the spell... or learn the spell then enchant something

There you go.
Still, you have basically answered my question. Time to see if a scroll of opening or whatever will work.
Oh, more importantly, I forgot to ask this, where is Tel Fyr?????? (is that the right name, I can't quite remember ... the place where you get cured of corprus diesease)
I had a thief character doing the main quest and I got sick of searching for this place, so I started my imperial legion guy, who is more fun anyway because I have a more solid concept to roleplay, but I'd still quite like to do go back and continue with more of the main quest sometime ...

Tel Fyr is, dare I say it, on the map... the poster-sized map that came with the game. It's in the Zafirbel Bar area, southwest of Sadrith Mora

I wish I had a map when I was playing =\
It's on an island (southwest of Sadrith Mora etc)
It's a big tower =D

Eh, thanks for the help, but I found it anyway, eventually :). BTW, I have lent the map to a friend: I am trying to convince him to buy morrowind.
