I think the whole idea of clockwork city is that you go prepared. Hence the "are you ready or not" question from Alma. I think the idea is like Jock from Deus Ex. You get the option to save or go do some other stuff before you are committed. As a discerning games player I save VERY often. And always new save games too. That way, I never get dropped in it because I always have a save game from very recently.
And one thing also. WTF does levetation not work in Mournhold and Clockwork City? I can only guess because they could not program in whats outside the walls. I reckon the developers could have got around it if they made Mournhold under like a dome. That would have been cool.

No, because then it'd all be inside... Ash storms, remember?
I'm saying if you're too weak to kill Almalexia then there's no way out of the Clockwork city to get better and stronger. And there are always some people out there who would get stuck inside the Clockwork City, no matter if Almalexia says, "Once inside, if you are too weak you will not be able to return, and forever be stuck inside the Clockwork City."

Sure, you get the choice "yes, I'm ready" / "no, not yet ready". And, at least I thought, yeah, I'm ready, I have a mean bad-ass sword, a few potions, what bad a thing could possibly happen to me? Besides, should I really get into trouble, I have all the teleport/intervention spells I can pull out of my sleeve.
Right?Buzz... wrong answer. You defeat everything in there or don't get out at all.

I must have had over 100 magickapotions with me..
And I wanted to bring my mercenary with Her hand armor but I couldn't.
I have a savegame right before going to the clockworkcity. Maybe I should try again.
Will I be able to get back W/O killing all the machinecreatures?
Cause it'll take less magicka to be invisible and sneak passed them.
What level were you at when defeating the imperfect?

Ok I killed him. SO I was really happy. Then Alamexia kills me
She does like 100 damage with her sword and I have 114 HP:cheeky:
At what level did you kill her?
Tej on 7/5/2003 at 10:02
I was level 40...
sappe on 7/5/2003 at 10:47
I'm level 28 right now.
My tactics are: Run backwards and hit her with your staff:D
It works as long as I hit her since I have more range. But if I miss, *SKISKISKISI*

I was level 42 I think.
However, I think I got off lightly tbh. Maybe Glitches? The Imperfect got stuck in the middle of the room and didnt attack me. And when fighting Alma, I kept running through the door to rest. She did herself, but only for like the first 2-3 times. Then she didnt bother. - Tip....get a good long blade skill (Buy some training) and use the sword TrueFlame (I think thats what its called)
Aslo, Alma Just stood there and tried hacking me with her sword.....I have good health and a set of glass armour plus the effects of the Heart Ring, Blood Ring etc. Using a Daedric Battle Axe I soon killed her. Running into the next room and resting, back for a few more swipes, back to the room to rest, back for a few more swipes and so on :)
Thats how I did it.
But...what happens if you *DONT* give her the Maze Band ring? Can you then use it to your own ends and avoid this confrontation all together?
Take care

My long blade skil stink. And to late to train it :erg: I did get a spell with fortify longlade 50 pts for 20 sec. SO I used it but I had a hard time even hitting her and she resisted the fire.
I have tried sleeping but if she gets one lucky hit and knocks me down I'm dead:(
I don't think it's possible to progress in the main quest if you don't give her the ring.
Also she has to "warm it up" or something like that ie. it would be useless.
EDIT: yep just tried, with the longblade fortifyspell I get up to 56 longblade. I couldn't get one single hit in before she killed me. Maybe in ten tries and none hit her.

So are you stuck in the Clockwork City then, Sappe?
