Are you running the T3MainOptVersion?
If so can we see you T3Main.log file (or the end of it, where it actually crashes)? Maybe this is something we can fix.

To tell you the truth i dont know what you all are talking about. Im only 14 and i only downloaded the editor to do a little bit of experimenting. Im going to take digital-art and design in a year or two. Doubt we'll be learning about something this high tech  I really love thief and i cant wait for some TDS FMs. And the only reason i got into the TDS editor was because i (accedentilly) gave away Thief-dark project and Thief-metal age. I've beaten all three but now im kinda bored since i dont have the first 2 and cant play the FMs made from the first two.

Okay. Hopefully you dl'ed the version with the readme file, which tells you to rename the T3MainOptVersion.exe in the <blah... Thief install>/system folder to T3Main.exe
If you don't do that then it probably isn't going to go at all. After that, and if you run the game and it crashes, it creates a load of .log files in the save game folder (defaults to MyDocuments/Thief: Deadly Shadows Saves, or something similar)
otherwise, try checking around (
http://www.ttlg.com/wiki) www.ttlg.com/wiki for ideas, and if you have a T3Main.log file, the end of the file will be the fatal error probably, and you can read it with notepad, so post the ERROR: (whatever) message if it's something bizarre.
Otherwise. You're only 14 and you're trying your hand at this. Good! Experiment, play with it, and we'll help as much as we can to get you going. Most of us are still learning this anyway. :thumb:

Sorry Bone, not trying to have a go at you there, just trying to be helpful, and a lot of things tend to be silly little problems (like I once forgot a player start in the map, so it wouldn't run).
Unfortunately, I can't really help more than the patronizing basic stuff without any more information. And I only use one Thief3 folder, and don't use the Thief3Launcher, so I'm not matching up with Komag's intallation instructions anyway. That and I either run my maps by non editor shortcut or the Send to Xbox menu commmand, rather than the play map button.
Something to try though would be creating a shortcut to the editor folder's T3.exe (not the renamed t3main.exe) with the name of one of the defaultmaps, like:
"C:\Program Files\Thief3\System\T3.exe" Castle1
Just to see if you can get into that map. If it seems to have hung up, don't press Enter! That has a nasty tendancy of clicking okay on error dialogues you can't see, try Alt+Enter to go to windowed mode and move the window out of the way. There may be something there, or I repeat -copy and paste the error from you save folder's t3main.log file here.
The editor, and the game once the two are combined, are hardly the most stable of software, so we're trying to iron the kinks out.
