I'm out of ideas for runs now... - by PixelDictator

So, I'm pretty much addicted to this game, but I've done so many different runs of it with different restrictions that I'm out of ideas for new fun stuff to try.
My most recent run (this afternoon) was a pacifist run with no weapons, hacking, or psionics, carrying a wrench to kill the few things that need to be killed. It was incredibly fun, and made today a genuinely awesome day.
The question is, how do I follow that? I might just start trying to beat the speedrun record, but I dunno.

Try some of the FMs? Christine has made a bunch. Try making one?

Some interesting ones I've done:
Gandhi: pacifist, not allowed to use any weapons, hack turrets or kill or destroy anything. The only exceptions being a few of the eggs (I think there were three I had to destroy myself) and a few membranes in BotM. The Brain was fun...
Psi-sword only: allowed to use the psi sword and nothing else. Basically the same as Gandhi up until deck 3, minimum, and when you first finally get the Psi Sword power, it lasts for such a short amount of time that it isn't much use and you run out of psi hypos very quickly. Gets a bit easier once you recycle every item in the game to buy more psi hypos...

It's been quite a while - is there some visual distortion effect (or similar distraction) when under influence of alcohol? If so, I'd recommend the drunken master style...

No.
I second the suggestion to try Christine's campaigns. Ponterbee Station, UNN Nightwalker, and Polaris Facility all together form a single story that provides at least twice as much gameplay as the original game.
Also, Secmod puts a lot of great new twists on the standard gameplay.

Have you tried a pacifist run on hardest difficulty yet? Kill only what you absolutely have to in order to win.
*Oh, I guess it was already mention. That sucks.
Just play the game with only one point of health, that way you have to be paranoid at all times.
Oh yeah, if you die, you have to restart from the beginning. None of those ressurection chamber thingies.

The Gandhi run is essentially what I just did, with a wrench, but I like that psi-sword only idea, since I like melee stuff. Thanks.
I'll also check out those fan missions!

Don't tell me you haven't tried "chips only". Doesn't get any better.

Wait, you don't need to destroy the black eggs yourself? How?

Some you do have to destroy yourself.
