Whatever. At any rate jimjack, it seems your protege needs a big brother now more than ever. Thief13x was right in that many teens steal for a thrill but never move on to the complete dumbass stage where they are assraped in prison. He then went on to disconnect his behavior with that of your young charge and pondered are there no poorhouses and jails, to paraphrase Dickens. That was wrong.
He needs guidance and example. He needs peer pressure from someone he looks up to. He needs a big brother. The metephorical asskicking sure, but also the carrot of example from someone who has been there and is still young enough for him to take seriously. He may not respect THE MAN but he may listen to honest correction from someone who has pulled thier own life from near disaster. And if he doesn't then you have done all you can do. But you know that. I'm sure you will keep in mind he is a person and not a project.
As for the original post, I would have been interested to see if the rest of us could discern our own pet neurosis instead of exhibiting them as usual. I know I harbor a few. A form of granduer delusion Nethawk should understand based on recognition of seemingly frequent coincedence though much milder and controlable for one. Ah well.

thief0, it seems is that you have all these big concepts in your head that you have observed but do not fully understand. Enjoy being young and stop worrying so much. If you can't stop thinking shit like this soon, I see two ways forward:
1) Read 'Nausea' by Sartre and learn some real reasons for why we should all kill ourselves. Don't choose this option.
2) Volunteer at a hospice or with a charity and see how the other half live. You'll get over yourself quick smart. Helping other people is one of the most satisfying things you can do with your time and you will get so much more out of it than you imagine.
