That glistening oinment reminds me of the time I got it. I think of mine as a time marker.
What did you use? I was told to put pile cream on mine... sounds like a sick joke but actually it really speeded up the healing time!:thumb: (don't get one that smells BTW, people may think you actually have piles!:o )

"Pile" cream? You mean, like hemorrhoids ointment? I suppose that would work, too. As for me, I used generic anesthetic/antibiotic gel (i.e., Neosporin).

KoOk, do me a favor and read TBEs first sentence and then your first one just after.
That would definately be a time marker alright.

Exactly. In the UK you can get one called "Preperation H"... if you buy the cream version it absolutly stinks, but there's a gel version with no smell at all. I was a bit cautious about using it (thought my mate was taking the piss) so only used it on 3 out of the 6 letters on my back... those I used it on had very thin scabs that went after a couple of days, those that I didn't use it on had the usual big-chunky scabs that lasted a while longer and were very easy to catch on my shirt (potentially ruining my tat).
I'd definately use it on my next tattoo and recommend it to anyone having one done!:thumb:

Apparently, there is something wrong with me...
First, I hardly bled at all during the tattooing (from what I hear this is very weird). And now, after 2 days instead of getting all crispy-gross and scabbed (as I am told it should), my tattoo looks like I've had it for months.
Everyone who has seen it, especially those who have a tattoo are saying "You just got that on Monday?!?!" :weird:
Yay for being weird! :thumb:
As for the design... Frogs have always been my thing, it started when I was very young, and being allergic to every animal with fur, I latched onto frogs. Over the years of planning my tattoo, I somewhere along the way decided that this was just for me (ironically located in a place I cannot see, but my reason for the placement comes from being increasingly aware of things like gravity and the way skin ages. So, I chose a place that would be less affected by that cruel bitch mother nature). Anyway, I don't dress in a way that it'd show (my days of half-tops and low-rise jeans are WAY over) so under normal circumstances, the general public will never see it, it's just for me. :)
(Of course I have no shame and will show it to anyone who asks)

Congrats on the ink, Mara! I've got three distinct tattoos (one of which happened at two different times).
Welcome to the club and nice work on choosing an attractive, tasteful, and artistic design. I agree with RBJ: the tribal ass-hats are soooo overdone. Yours is excellent.

How that counts as doing
you a favor is beyond me. :p

Quite right. Not my favor.
For some reason this reminded me of the joke about the skittish skydiver who was told if he didn't jump he would get it in the rear and when later asked if he jumped replied "a little at first".
Sorry, that's likely not in my favor either.
