I think SubEff is referring to chicken anuses, albeit using the Latin nominative plural
ani to mark himself out as an educated fellow.
Actually just a mistake on my part. I meant anuses. Yum.

Whatever you do, do not tell anyone in China (or any oriental country) that they're lucky, or you won't be able to break free from a sudden hug of happiness and emotion.
It happened to me in S.Korea.
Nothing bad really, I actually enjoyed the discovery of such a phenomenon in Asia.
Ah yes congratz on the job, and be aware that Chinese aren't really trusting in foreigners and it may take you a while to break the ice.
Is not that other countries do not have this symptom, but so far in the one I live now they aren't really warm with me so far.
I plan on going back to my country soon, 2008 maybe.

I suppose I'll post some text too.
So, teaching is going fine, it is slightly annoying though, because the students are not evenly balanced. There are some groups that I see every day and others that I see like twice. Oh well.
The team I am with and I got interviewed and were on local TV today (again), we also met the #1 person of Xinxian, which I suppose was cool, although 'met' means shook hands...
Got to play baseball with the students two days ago, but that kinda turned into hit the ball, and run in a circle before I can grab the ball you just hit and hit you with it.
There are fireworks in town very frequently, including at 4 in the morning, so that's a bit annoying. Also, the hotel I'm staying at has a karaoke bar two floors down, so before midnight there is a lot of awful drunken singing.
The town I am in has a type of festival every night, where they get these giant inflatable things, and set them up in the park for the children to play in. They also light up the trees, and sometimes there are fireworks. It's pretty cool. In addition, they occasionally have an ourdoor singing contest thing, where it seems you can win TVs or something. Not entirely sure though. Anyways, it's pretty cool during the nighttime.
Also, it's not really a job, almost more like volunteer work, even though the school covers all costs in Xinxian. Anyways, it should be good experience if I wanna get into JET.

So, a bit of an interesting happening. At the school, the headmaster sent all the students home for three days, which happened to be three of the four days left of my teaching. So I and two other foreign teachers at the school decided to go back to Xinyang to go teach at another school. The school I am currently at is using the Cambridge English teaching method, which is basically an english teaching method developed my Cambridge. The books seem to be well designed, and the students are quite advanced for their age (8-12). So, everything is going ok here, even if it's only for like four days.
Hrm, last night I used my meh Chinese skills to buy some ti guan yin. (Also known as Kuan Yin Tea, or if you translate that, Iron Goddess of Mercy Tea. One of the ten famous teas of China. Pretty good stuff)
Anyways, that's what's been going on with me.

Another update, tomorrow is my last day teaching. Then I'll head up to Beijing and on Monday I'll fly home. It's been pretty good, and I'll post more closing thought when I get home.
I have a couple more pictures I intend to post, but the internet cafe I'm at currently doesn't have any USB slots, so I can't get the pictures into the computer. So possibly in Beijing I'll be able to post some images.
Oh, and I just had some fried rice with pork for dinner and it was tasty.
