if there was a thief 4 made that follows cannon post thief 3 who would you want to be the main enemy in the game???

would you want to see a past character make a comeback as main enemy, or a new character interduce into the lore as main enemy???


my personal opinion would be to have one of if not a group of mages as main enemy's, as they would still be able to use magic, since keepers cant use glyphs anymore

they can interduce a fifth element into the mages "ether/space"

adding a new talisman

this way thief can get magic back into game add a lot with mages lore/etc

Exactly, assuming necromancers sound like a great idea.
We know the necromancer tower in LOTP and from the planned, but sadly never released Thief 2 Gold missions, one featuring the necromancers controlling a territory in the mountains, probably not far away from the city itself.

Now with the keepers glyph magic lost, the keepers also lost their ability to foresee future events.
During the years the young child (it´s not mentioned if it is a girl or a boy according to the wiki) reaches adolescence and slowly begins to abandon Garrett, using his//her abilities to pickpocket and slowly established a reputation of a master thief.
Due to a dispute, the new master thief and Garrett separate from each other, leaving Garrett as a bitter old man who ultimately turned his back to the city.
After some big heists, the new master thief got his hands on an old artifact, claiming a faction "The Others" equipped with ancient power were betrayed by the Trickster himself and were forced to leave the city a long time ago, living now as exiles in the mountains. The Mages ruled the city from the past on and under their supervision necromancy was banned.
Meanwhile, a noble librarian wants to aquire the magic Book of Scarlet and asks the new master thief to steal it. To do so, the new master thief follows a chain of clues deep into the past of the city.
After one or two plot twists in the game the new master thief learned The Others are actually a necromancers cult who wanted revenge on the city, leading to the first cataclysm in the city 80 years ago - when the undead hordes destroyed the now walled-off quarter.
After finally finding the Book of Scarlet, the old librarian reveals himself as the archmage of the necromancers, who wants to finally destroy the city with the unbound powers of the Book of Scarlet and now doesn´t need him anymore.
The new master thief barely survives, searching for Garrett in order to stop the necromancers, finally finding him living as a hermit in the forests. With the help of the Mages, they get a magical item to destroy the Book of Scarlet - to turn its power against itself.
Now the new master thief and Garrett infiltrate the necromancer towers in the mountains, they destroy the book, but Garrett got fatally hurt in the process, sacrificing himself to ensure the new master thief´s survival. The archmage of the necromancers is killed.
In the final cutscene, the necromancer towers burn down, leaving the new master thief alone who swears to protect the city and refounds the order of the Keeper with himself as the first keeper.

Benny sobers up and becomes head of the city watch tries to take over the world.

Or, the golden child creates a machine version of Karras and uses him as a puppet to destroy the world.

Or, Dewdrop becomes possessed and grows into a giant wicker man sized doll that trashes Southquarter and Audale like Godzilla. And Garrett has to bring all the factions together to bring an end to the chaos and destruction. They come together and defeat Dewdrop by combining a bunch of wrecked mechanical Karras bots to make one giant one.

therealslimgarrett i love the idea of multiple endings but they also need to add murlocks ending

maybe thief 4 can be a group of mages bringing the woodsie lord back to life

also it would be funny if they let us find out that benny is really the master builder :P as he was in all games

i just hope if they ever do a thief 4 cannon they go a more darker/magic route, time travel back to knights of the round table era meet merlin the magician, retrieve the sword of Camelot :P ok i got carried away
