If I kill the Goblin King and co early in the game .... will it prevent me from completing other quests later? For example I saw a post about making the Trolls independant.
1. I want to kill them because I want to raid the King's treasure and haven't the sneak skills yet.
2. I've had to restart the game having got to the Ultimate Weapon chapter and found I couldn't trigger the Ghost Murder sidequest and assumed it had something to do with the message I'd seen earlier about having killed someone relevant to the game, but I could still finish it 'type-thing'.

Actually you do not need any sneak skills to steal the treasure. Just time it so you are stealing while the goblin is patrolling away from the door. Then run to the side and wait until he walks away again. You can get everything except whats in a chest or 2.
