I have XP SP3. Ever since I started using Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox browsers, hotmail will not show up in IE, nor will windowsupdate. It says Done on the bottom bar of the browser, but the window is blank.
Other things are OK. For example, I'm posting this in IE right now.
Anyone know what's going on?
By the way, IE is set as default browser.

I say, stop using IE.
And remove it as the default browser.

Is it possible to do manual windows update without IE?

When I had XP I'd just download them, now I have them on automatic updates. I'm sure you can do them without IE.

Those browsers would not interact with IE in anyway, and its possible you have a virus from some other app you have installed.
Do a virus scan (what AntiVirus app do you have?>) and as others have said stop using IE. And IMHO dont use chrome either as google cant be trusted.

Right now I'm just using Avast. I had 168 days left on Kaspersky, but the technical update failed, leaving me without any Kaspersky at all. I haven't gotten around to installing it from the disc again and updating again.
I can't get flashplayer installed on the other browsers, it says I already have one installed. I think it means the built in version in Chrome.
Why do you say that Chrome can't be trusted? What is your favourite browser and why?

I don't know about Chrome not being safe, but I use both it and Firefox (mainly Firefox), because of all the addons (Adblocker, Safe search, etc.); I've been using Firefox for about 6 years and never had any problems - the only issue with it is that it sometimes freezes for a few seconds and it's pretty slow to load up, that's why I use Chrome occasionally because it's faster.

He says that about Chrome because he's tinfoil-hatting about how Google is some sort of evil empire spying on Chrome users.

Like Major League Baseball in the Simpsons episode where Bart takes Focusyn?
