Idea for a mod. - by DevNull

A friend and I were checking out some armor mods, and came to thinking "what about Aedric armor?" I mean, if the Deadra have their own armor, why not make a VERY ancient armor made by the Aedra? Ok, thats all I have to say on the subject, if any one decides to make a mod of it, great. I won't so use the idea, and tell me what you think. :)

I dunno exactly what Aedra are, in the Elder Scrolls universe, but Daedric armor isn't exactly made by Daedra. It's made _of_ Daedra. Though I suppose there's nothing keeping a Daedra from making Daedric stuff.
So I guess it comes down to whether or not Aedra can be semi-permanantly bound like Daedra can.

Something else is that Daedra spirits are immortal; if you kill one's body, it just grows another after a few millennia. If you kill an Aedra's body, on the other hand, it's dead for all time. As someone [Striker, I think] clued me in, Aedra are what the people of that world call 'gods'; witness the Heart, the last remnant of the Aedra that sacrificed itself to give life to the world.
Given that, I doubt that Aedric souls would last long enough to be turned into armor (yup, Daedric armor contains the soul of the Daedra that was used to make it)

I didn't so much mean armor made OF Aedra, but made BY them. Since the Aedra only got one shot at the world, you would think that some would want some mighty DAMN good protection. I should also think that it would make sense that it would have at least SOME magical properties, since these would have been made by the creators, not the sustainers.

The Aedra are infact the Eight Divinities, which are:
Akatosh (Dragon God of Time)
Dibella (Goddess of Beauty)
Arkay (God of the Cycle of Life and Death)
Zenithar (God of Work and Commerce, Trader God)
Mara (Goddess of Love)
Stendarr (God of Mercy)
Kynareth (Goddess of Air)
Julianos (God of Wisdom and Logic)
There are others (Magnus, the Sun God and Lorkhan, the Trickster God), but these are the main Eight Aedra.
Also, I'm not sure if you can actually kill the Aedra... according to the Five Songs of King Wulfharth, Lorkhan was at the Battle at Red Mountain trying to re-aquire his heart. (Lorkhan was the one that tricked the other Aedra into creating the Mundus [Nirn, the mortal plane].)
There are a coulple of references to Lorkhan's heart; one is in the High Elf Creation Myth, where Auriel and Trinimac remove his heart and (not being able to destroy it) strapped it to an arrow and fired it into the Sea. The other tells of how it fell from the sky and created Red Mountian (IIRC).
At any rate, the Lesser Daedra are different - they were created as play things and minions of the Daerda Lords. All Daedra are bound to Oblivion (Even the Daedra Lords)... destroying their physical bodies sends their souls back to Oblivion until they can re-form. Only the Lesser Daedra can have their souls trapped (I'm not sure if it's possible to trap the soul of a Daerda Lord...)
Now, the 'Lesser Aedra' are the Men, Beasts and Mer, who's soul's cannot be trapped due to Arkay's Blessing. (Although according to the book 'Arkay the Enemy' there are ways around this.)
The point I'm trying to make is this:
1. Daedric armour is made from Lesser Daedra. Creating armour made from Lesser Aedra is impossible.
2. Some of the artifacts you can find have been made by the Aedra. The most worthy ones of note are Auriels Bow and Shield, as well as Lords Mail. I guess there isn't really anything stopping you from creating your own.
Thus finishes the Tamriel Theology Lesson. ;)

Follow him to battle! Chaaaaarge!"). On the other hand, "Aedra & Daedra" defines Aedra & Daedra in a much more scholarly manner and says this: As part of the divine contract of creation, the Aedra can be killed. Witness Lorkhan and the moons.
As with most things in Morrowind, it's ultimately up to the reader to decide what they believe... which irritates me to no end

Forsythe, Striker... you know too much, lol... do you get this info from older games or the website?, I don't think i saw any of that stuff in the game,.

I'm just obsessed with Elder Scrolls lore :D
Most of the information comes from:
- Daggerfall
- Redguard
- Morrowind (Mainly the books)
- (
http://m0use.net/~xanathar/) The Imperial Library
- Developer posts on the Official Forums
There is quite a lot of information out there, if you are willing to read it all. ;)

And me, well, I just love to read... be it Morrowind books, real-world books, or the backs of cereal boxes (when I was a kid, no books were allowed at the breakfast table ;)) On top of that, I really like immersive fiction like this, where you have to remember all these little facts to fit the whole picture together, so I kind've accumulate details ;)

Forsythe, do you happen to own an unopened box of Quisp cereal, by chance?;) :erm:
