Myself another Proud owner of the ICE Breaker Strategy Guide. Very cool stuff. I got it from someone on Ebay in 2003.

You guys probably won't believe this. About 2 years ago I was in the Chicago Micro Center store, when I decided to search their store's inventory for "system shock". That store seems to never flush out old inventory, so I thought I might find a gem hidden somewhere. Sure enough, their computer showed a copy of System Shock I.C.E. Breaker in stock. This is something like 11 years after its release! I wandered over to an obscure clearance section for video game strategy guides, and sure enough. I.C.E. Breaker, sealed in original shrink wrap, for $3.50 if my memory serves. Wow, did I feel lucky that day. (I also found a pristine copy of the official Anachronox Strategy guide for around the same price -- something else I was pumped about!)
Which brings me to this: I can't possibly unwrap my sealed copy of I.C.E. Breaker, but I'd love to have a look! If anyone can scan it, I'd be very appreciative. Giving SS1 another whirl recently has made me all nostalgic.

I hate to say it, but I don't think a game guide is like a fine wine in the sense that it grows more valuable with age :p

It's like the book of the dead, anyone who comes near it forgets what's important. :erg:

I usually wouldn't say something like this but if you haven't opened it yet don't....there's no logic to what i said but..just don't

Collecter's item perhaps?

You'd be surprised - I've seen some guides for older games advertised for insane prices on Ebay.
I really should get around to scanning my ICE Breaker one of these days.

I actually sold mine the other week. I ruined the damn spine by trying to scan it for you guys, mine had the maps too. No one would bid on my 2 auctions and some Finnish bloke bought it for £16 at buyout.

Seems you weren't really upfront about the spine being broken ;-) Still a good deal for the buyer though. I think I've seen these things go for about $100 USD. A collector's item indeed.
