I went to read the stuff on the link put up by Z and I got one serious query, which may be an oversight by the developers when planning the story for Deus Ex:
According to the Continuity Bible, Paul was a natural offspring of the Denton family, and was picked to be the first nano-aug agent because of his genes, JC was created by impregnating his willing mum (who was given a 'too good to be true' offer) with cells cloned from Paul.
However, Deus Ex in-game plot and story elements suggest that both Paul and JC were bioengineered right from the start:
1) Juan Lebadov claimed that the 'parents' were not real biological parents but were actually under the employment of the UN.
2) Paul mentioned that he saw the DNA sequences for the family and believed there was not relation between the brothers and their 'parents'
3) Page mentioned that JC was 'born/created' in the bowels of Area 51.
I agree with you there, that does not match to the info that you get in the game.
I think both were engineered. Also, just look at the tank of JC and Alex in Area51, the line where it tells on which DNA the clone is based. The clones of Simons and Page (the two on the other side of the room) say that just plainly, the two Dentons only have 'xxxxxxxjz' or so there.
You might argue that Paul wasn't engineered, since there is no empty tank for Paul - but remember that he has been around already for years, so maybe even the lazy cloning workers there had enough time to remove his tank in the mean time.
