Hi, I was just wondering if someone could give me tips on how to get the most out of my Scrolls of Icarian Flight. Namely how to survive impact, since from Seyda Neen to Balmora I usually land ten feet west of the river.

OK ... Try one of the following methods;
1. Cast a second I.F. scroll just before hitting ground.
2. Cast a slowfall spell. (Even 0 pts will work.)
3. Cast an 'intervention' spell before impact. (This one is dumb.)
4. Try to land in the water. (Never tried it, Don't Know if it'll work.)
5. Anybody know if you take damage when landing on a NPC or monster ? It's worth a try.
I have the feeling there's something I missed. Anyone? Anyone?

Use magic to boost your Athletics skill to be some crazy high number. Which is what the IF scroll does anyway. You can use the Alchemy cheat to do it I suppose.

Test results in.
Land in water. Works if the water is deep enough. The Odai river is NOT deep enough.
Land on NPC. No go. You fall through to the ground. You end up standing inside them. (Double ouch!)

You can also use like a Cheap Potion of Levitate just before you hit the ground.

Thanks, now I just need to find a cheap supply.
And is it just me or is thievery very easy in this game?

Mmmm....Well, it can be dificult to be a theif in Morrowind. At a low sneak level and that, people will probably detct you through a wall, but once it gets higher, you can sneak right up into someones face and they don't see you. It's pretty stupid actually. So yes, at higher levels, theiving is easy.

Shop shelves full of goodies + telekinesis + any crappy sneak skill = inventory full of goodies, works best at the alchemists in Balmora - quick and easy way to get masters/grandmasters alchemy equipment.

There is an expression "to steal from under one's nose"
That's what you actually do in Morrowind. It happens in real life, so why should it be stupid MW? :)

Because you're circling a hostile three times in open daylight on a broad plain before backstabbing* them. Or dancing in their lap. Or blocking 70% of their field of view.
*As they fall dead from a single critical, they will say something like "You're growing weak!" or "You're beaten!" on the way down.
