I was blind and now I can see... - by Spleen

I think I'm losing my sight. Fucker, huh?
Thing is, I've had a sore head off and on for about two months now. Figured at first it was just the hot weather. It's been a bitch of a hot year. Can't remember the last time it was this fucking hot. Now though it's a lot cooler, but my sore head is still ever present, and it feels like it's right behind my eyes. Bright light is evil. Either I'm a vampire or my eyesight is responsible for the pain.
Question is, I'm 32, and I was wondering what age anyone else out there started to lose their sight. And whether sore heads were a classic symptom. Eye tests here cost money, and I don't want to waste some getting them checked out to discover it's just a brain tumor. I'm loathe to start using glasses. Even sun glasses feel weird on my nose, and exacerbate the sore head.
Now, of to the "ITT we do drugs", or whatever it's called. Pscilocybe season is on the horizon.
PS Just saw a photo of GBM. Fucking hell but the internet and a fucked imagination do not mix. You look nothing like I imagined. Far too thin. :thumb:

Relax dude it's probably nothing.
And by that I mean GO SEE A DOCTOR!

Dude, see a doctor! As soon as you damn well can!

Chickens or eggs?
If the headaches cause the sensitivity to light, you are likely looking at migraines -- and much of the time you can trace the culprit back to dietary things like nitrates, phenylethylamines, and tyramines.
If it's the sensitivity to light that's causing the headaches, then you're likely looking at an occular or optic nerve problem like iritis or optic neuritis or something.
Migraines you can do something about without having to doctor up immediately. And considering that they're fairly common in the world, that's what I'd assume from my armchair and with my imaginary medical degree.

Losing your sight and requiring glasses are not the same thing. Long or short sight can affect anyone at any age, it is not necessarily a sign of deterioration (although it can be).

OMG! What is with guys not wanting to go see a doctor when something's obviously malfunctioning? What does it take to make you realize that your health (especially your eyesight) is nothing to fuck around with?? Maybe it is only migraines; there are some great meds on the market for those type of headaches nowadays. But maybe it isn't. Why take chances needlessly? I would definitely like to grab you by the ear and haul your ass to the nearest doctor right now at this very minute.
I'll settle for calling your mom instead and telling on you.

See a doctor. Even if it's only migraine (heh) you owe it to yourself to find out for sure.

Wait, is your eyesight malfunctioning in any way? It's not uncommon for someone who's eyes are straining to get headaches - but as others said, your description sounds more like a migraine symptom.

Many of us really don't trust doctors to not make things worse. I've had some very bad experiences in that regard. Since adulthood, I've never had a doctor actually
improve my situation any. (And I work in medical research...)

Sup I heard someone needed a doc itt. :p
If you don't trust your doctor then only take the advice/medication you're happy taking.
And no, "sore head" is not a classic symptom associated with sight loss.

GO TO THE DOCTOR
Can you see that ok? You can't put a price on your eyesight
