Auditory hallucinations (often footsteps or indistinct voices, or pulsing noises), falling sensation, vibration, the feeling of being pulled in different directions, Involuntary movements (sometimes the feeling of sliding off of the bed or even up walls).
As for the "feeling of being pulled in different directions", does that relate in any way to smothering or crushing feelings? Or the feeling of a large invisible, unknown mass that is, essentially, depriving you of your life?
Also, for the "falling sensation", does that include the "tripping" dream? Where you are at first not really dreaming at all, then suddenly out of nowhere are walking and you trip, which then makes you jerk, or "trip" in reality and then usually wake up.
What is the cause of these dream "disorders"?
And I use the word "disorders" in the best way possible.
Morrgan: My mother has "dreams" similiar to yours, except all of the people she sees are not "grossly" dead. They are intact, "living" bodies. I'm not entirely sure she is actually dreaming, as she believes she is
not. And thus these people that she sees(almost regularly, I might add), have been dubbed ghosts, in our house.
I believe they are ghosts as well, as I have felt their presence and heard them before, but I still have this little bit of hope that they are merely in her dreams.
Although I have a fascination with ghosts, and people beyond my own realm intrigue me, I'd rather not meet one just yet. Atleast, not alone.
Good luck with your dream problems. And although I can understand your wanting to get rid of these unpleasant dreams, you might also want to try to explore them more, and see if there is any meaning you may be missing, or any message you may not have heard the first three times.
:)

Thanks all for sharing your experiences. :)
Last night I slept like a bebe for the first time all week. For a whole 11 hours. \o/ The only unpleasant part I remember of the dreams was going for lunch and finding they were out of the mozzarella-tomato-filled tortillas I wanted to get. As crushingly disappointing as it was, I can handle that. Especially as I'm now sitting here with my tummy full of them. Mmmmm.
Printer's Devil: I have yet to see a spider in real life that would scare me (yay for Finland), but seeing them in games or reading about them gives me the chills. *shudder* Heh, as for TGG, I guess I'd better get some good use out of these dreams. ;)
Cookie Dough: Well, the dead people in my dreams are intact as well, that's why I can't tell they're dead immediately. Thankfully, I'm sure mine are dreams. Heh, I must ask though, if your mother believes they aren't dreams, how the hell does she stay sane? :p Even though the ones I see in the dreams don't really look scary and aren't threatening, there's something just so creepy about them I can't even stand to look at them. It's been such a huge relief to wake up and realize it was a dream. Don't know that I could stay calm long enough to find out what they're trying to say.
There was one more experience I didn't mention before. I was in bed, drifting off to sleep, and Vig was brushing his teeth in the bathroom. After a while I sensed him come into the room and felt the bed shift as he lied down. A minute later, I heard the bathroom door open and opened my eyes in time to see Vig come in through the door. Oddly enough, I didn't get too freaked at the time, I figured it was just me being half asleep and dreaming something. Now when I think back and remember how I felt the bed move... Gah. I still think it's just something my sleepy brain dreamed up, but it's more than a bit creepy to think about, especially as I started having these dreams shortly after.
Heh, it doesn't help that our 80-something-year-old, somewhat "confused" landlady rings our door every now and then, saying she wants to talk to various people she believes are in our apartment, such as her mother. :p Who knows, might be that that's stayed in the back of my mind and brought these dreams about in the first place.

That giant dead hissy floating on its back in
TGG2:R is, hands-down, the creepiest thing I've ever seen in a FM.

Well, it's a bit of a complicated subject. I suffer from sleep paralysis, which in a nutshell, is where the body sometimes shuts off to sleep but the brain kind of remains "awake" in a loose sense of the word. Everyone gets it now and then, my "episodes" are just far more frequent.
I used to get it all the time, even had the 'alien abduction' dream/hallucination one time, which really freaked me out. Usually I wasn't bothered though & would just try to ignore it until I fell asleep properly again. Just knowing what it was was a great help in staying relaxed- I read somewhere that panicing and fighting the paralysis increases your chances of things like the hag hallucination happening.
I was fairly prone to insomnia as well, and hallucinated from lack of sleep a couple of times, so I guess I just generally had sleeping problems.
When my boyfriend moved in it all stopped. No more sleep paralysis and no real insomnia.

I uh... I never said she was... :erm: ;)
Actually, she usually yells at them, atleast when they startle her. I don't think she's really afraid of them, just alarmed by their unexpected presence.
There's also the whole
she doesn't know if someone has broken into the house and is actually standing there or if it's just another "ghost", thing.

Mhmm, true, I also get the usual heightened sense of hearing when I get "paranoid" or "freaked out" too, so I'll hear any little creak or noise.
I also enjoy hearing a good
real ghost story now and then, so I suppose they just stick with me. :)
One "ghost" inparticular though -"Freddie"- has been seen by more people than just my mother in our house. "Tis all good though, hopefully I'll just some day work up the guts to face them. If they really are there, and real, it could be quite fascinating to "get to know them". :)

For months now if I wake in the dark I see some sort of webby, fibrous curtain or veil hanging over my bed... Then I blink and clear my mind and it gradually resolves and disappears. What is that
What IS that
