How do you seal a border anyway? Do they make draught excluders that size?
I'd love to see a 1,300 mile one of these

That image would make one hell of a Thematic Apperception Test.

Save us from the immigrants!!
If only the native Americans, who were immigrants themselves at one time, had put up a bunch of fences to keep the dirty europeans out.
I do believe that ship has sailed. While I realize that the U.S. was built on immigration. I believe the point is that most of them immigrated here legally.
I am not a racist nor am I against immigration. What I am against is illegal immigration. More that that I am against corporations hiring illegals because it benefits their bottom line. It neither benefits the American working class or the exploited Mexican worker.

Yeah, because sovereignty is clearly just about xenophobia.
Unless we are talking about Mexico, who we in the US are giving (
http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2007/oct/93817.htm) 1.4 billion US to aid in a bid to protect
their southern border, rather than ours.
On that note, Mexico promotes illegal entry into the U.S. while publicly saying it is against it, While aggressively defending its own southern border.
Side note: on news today in Los angeles was a story about a young kid (17) good kid, athlete, good grades..Killed on the street by a illegal alien, who was just released from jail here for a previous crime.
The La pd did not deport him when they caught him the first time.
Reason: its not their job. call me crazy, but they don't call them illegals for nothing. entering the country illegally is a crime. How can we ever consider ourselves secure from terrorism when we can't even control our own borders?

I don't understand what the ad is implying. Is it saying, in an "ideal" world, Mexico would take up half of the US? And what does that half to do with vodka? god I'm so dumb...

I'm sorry, I didn't realize that the Native Americans had a concept of what was legal immigration. Their concept of law, if they even had one, wouldn't even be remotely close to what we consider it today.

While this is probably unintended, it seems like you're labeling all illegal immigrants as murders and criminals.

Keep them low-wages jobs.
Here's a Mexican who isn't needing them at all, thank God.
I do have to agree I disliked the poor taste of that ad too. As far as I'm concerned, water under the bridge -long- ago.
But then again, some people around here -still- bitch about Christopher Columbus' discovery of America whenever the holiday arrives, so there's no pleasing anyone nowadays...oh well.
I'm the first one to say that I wish illegal inmigration stopped not because of a wall (trust me, it may cut it in half or 2/3s, but it will never stop it fully), hiring more border troopers nor more right-wing nutters like the Minutemen going down with their binoculars and a few guns. But because economic/job conditions down here actually got better.
I also dislike the cynicism of my government (those that speak about it) who praise the efforts of those that crossed and have, so far, made it while keeping a so-so tight leash on our own southern border (between the Maras, other gangs and drug cartels it ain't no picnic for'em).
Bleh, it's a mess.
