My computer is just a few years old but will only play thief2 games. I tried to set up Thief gold and no go. Has anyone else had this problem and solved it?
Oh Hi everyone I have been playing Thief again for a while now but not posted. I have a lot to catch up on. :cheeky:

There's an FAQ in the Thief General forum, which might address your problems. There is also a Legacy Gaming forum for running old games on new computers.
A while ago I installed a new graphics card and TG would no longer work. It did work after I installed DDFix, a program which is mentioned in the Legacy forum.

FYI I have a new system now, running Vista64, and I was unable to install DDFix using the GUI (automatic) version, it kept crashing. I had to install DDFix manually, but that worked fine. Except I still don't have movies working.

Are you having problems
installing Thief Gold or
running it? If it's the first one do the following:
Quote:
Go to Start, then Run, then type d:\setup.exe -lgntforce, where d:\ is your CDrom/DVDrom drive. (note: that's -lgntforce, lowercase "L". If you're unsure, copy and paste it from here.)
As for what graphics card you have the easiest way is to go to Start, then Run and then type
dxdiag. This will show you detailed information about your computer.

Hello everyone. I tried the Thief Gold install again and this is the error message I received.
Product cannot be installed on windows NT due to Microsoft Directx tm limitations.
I am not running NT but XP Pro. Has anyone seen this error before??
Thanks so much.:eww: :erm: :weird:
