Well, I am working on my design portfolio (it's due this week for next year), and I need to find professional examples (2D stuff, adds) that use Gestalt principles. I know alot of people here are smart when it comes to this type of stuff, so if anyone could help me out a little I'd very much appricate it. :erg:
Thanks in advance.

Where are you at in school? I ask because that will determine how sophisticated a reply you're looking for.
Gestalt is everywhere in design- for a good easy place to get you started, look at company and product logos.

I don't think it's really a problem. Commchat has been blissfully supplying me with talking points for contemporary issues for about a year now.

Thanks for the replays guys, turns out that I've found all the examples for Gestalt on my own (took a while). Next thing on the agenda is finding examples of visual contrasts for these, shouldn't be too hard (one for each);
- Value
- Direction
- Shape
- Scale
As for what school I am going to, I'd rather not say if one of my teachers is a member of this forum..... it's college that specifies in design. Hmmm, maybe you guys shouldn't be helping me do, what if they find out and kick me out for "plagiarism", they are kind of anal about that stuff... how about if one of you knows of an exelent example, pm me, ok? But then again, what if one of my teachers is a member here, then sends me an example, I use it and get exposed. Crap, maybe I should just work on my own. Well, I guess the best thing would be if you guys could post links to pages where I can find good profesional design, because I am having a very hard time finding stuff on my own.

You have to put a comma after "help" otherwise it looks like you're asking for "help guys"

I wasn't asking what school you were attending, but where you are at- as in what level- High School, College, whatever.
And, yeah aguy is right - what you're looking for is everywhere- it's all just a matter of being able to recognise and describe it. Your assignment isn't to find this stuff, it's to make sure you understand the principles and can prove it by providing examples. Read the definitions in your text book, then pick up the nearest magazine and you should be able to find an example of everything on your list in a few pages.
