Hi there,
Right now I'm testing a Thief2 Fan mission and I have a problem no other testers experience:
I can open the mission, walk around, but I can't use any weapon.
When I try to use an arrow I hear some sort of clicking sound.
I have the same problem playing the City Conflict Fan missions and all T1 missions.
Strangely enough I'm able to play all other T2 FM's and also don't have a problem testing other T2missions at the same time.
I hope someone will know what I mean here and can help me deal with this problem.

If no other testers are having that problem, it could be a bad download.
I would try re-downloading the file and trying it again. If that's not it, we'll have to try something else. But, easiest first.

Thanks for the input, but I already tried that.
I'll try again tomorrow!
I'm glad to see you here on this forum BTW!!!

Do you know if you have a USB or PS/2 mouse
I had the same problem when I was using Widows XP and a USB mouse, I got a USB to PS2 adaptor for the mouse to plug into the old mouse port and all went well after that.

Gloria: I can reproduce your problem if I use the wrong gen.osm file. There are different gen.osm files for Thief1 and Thief 2.
Is it possible you have the wrong gen.osm file in yourThief2 folder?
Do you have Thief 1 or Thief Gold? If it's Thief1, check the FAQ for the Thief Gold patch. If you have Thief Gold, or you are patched already, it may be that you have a wrong gen.osm in your Thief1 folder as well.
Can you tell us the file sizes and dates of your two gen.osm files? My Thief Gold gen.osm is 1,163,276 and dated 29/09/1999; my Thief 2 gen.osm is 429,568 and dated 27/03/2000.

I agree with ffox that it is most likely the gen.osm file. I don't know what else would cause this particular problem.

Ffox, I,ve got an older version, so you're probably right.
Yes Tannar, you already send me an update on the betatestforum. I tried to overwrite the gen.osm, but I probably failed.
Can someone tell me where I can download it from?
I can't find it on the Circle.

I'll look into that, but to me this is a default script.
Thanks anyway for all of your trouble doing this for me. I appreciate it!
I'll check the FAQ now.

I did check and couldn't find any gen.osm remark on the FAQ forum.
I'm a dummy here. Please help?! :eww:
