She's a 35-foot Cal-Jensen "cruising" model sailboat and we currenly moor her in the Seattle area, though a recent rise in rents at the marina without a similar rise in facilities has made us consider moving. I think there's a (
http://www.eskimo.com/~warlock/boat/windwalker.html) photo of the boat on my husband's site....
Yup. That's her. Somewhere around is a picture of the boat in the snow, but I can't find it at the moment.

Veddy nice, Blue. I notice from the description that the photos etc. date from 2001.
How did the heating, holding tanks etc. mods workout? I did notice that he forgot to mention the "sandbox" for the ferrets and Kitts. :)

We had a head system professionally installed about a year ago and it's been great. Our attempts to do it ourselves were somewhat... unimpressive.
Heater is still an issue, but we're working on it.
Sandbox... we have a covered one in a good location and a smaller one in the ferret cage which is built in where a small, useless cabinet used to be in the forepeak. We'll remove it when we sell the boat and restore the cabinet.
The boat hasn't changed much, really, except to need new canvas and the usual maintenance issues. We finally got the correct name on the stern, so she's legal and upgraded the stove which unexpectedly decided it really didn't want to work anymore.

I would LOVE to live on a boat but there would have to be internet, lol. :cheeky:
or else how would i check my E-Mail?

My mum's canal boat had internet via a mobile phone, as well as satellite tv (the satellite could move itself or be moved by hand to get the right direction.) The internet was only 28.8k though, so ok for e-mail but not much else. Which was all they wanted really, so hey :)

We have high-speed cable at the dock. When we're away, we want to be away, but we can always find a cafe or library to check e-mail, if we have to.

Indeed. I think I could stand doing without "DEar Fredriq, the opportunity is for yOu" for long enough to bounce a few marshmellows off killer whales. Plus Travis McGee made it sound so damn sexy in all those John D. McDonald books. Sadly, if I had one, I couldn't resist the urge to piracy.

I'm feeling very nostalgic for a nice, long sail.... I've got too much to do between now and August 1 to go out much, but we did figure to take most of the rest of August off and sail a lot to make up for it. Well, until August 22, when I have to go to LA for WorldCon. That's 3 weeks, though. I hope I can slip a few extra weeks in in September, too, before the weather gets too foul.
