...Like, fast travel...once upon in daggerfall, you were able to type in the town you were looking for (ANY town, not just major ones), then the map would most graciously find the town and ask you if you would like to travel there....in 2 seconds the game would take you there, foot or otherwise in *real time*. *sigh* I'm not sure i like pressing the "w" button to get to my destination all the time as i am getting older and running out of *real time* =(. Just a thought devs.
Peace

Uh, since silt striders and guild guides exist between all the major towns, I don't understand your problem.
When you manage to get recall and mark, things will be even easier. The only time you have to actually walk is when you're out in the wilderness looking for a specific place. Then it stands to reason that you have to actually LOOK for it, since it's not known to you.
All in all, going from A to B is not the hassle. It's FINDING some of the B's that bugs me sometimes (remembers spending 1 RL hour looking for a silly cave).

He said "any town, not just the major ones" Of course you can go to a lot of places with boats, mages, silt striders and recall, but that still doesn't help you to get to Ghostfence or Pelagiad. After the first time walking someplace is plain boring, only thing you meet is cliffracers and rats.

How about the tombs and ruins that need to be explored? You'd never see any of them if you didn't go wandering once in a while.

Good points raised here! I think it would not be too dificult making a mod to include the more isolated cities in the Silt Strider/Boats caravans.
Another point I would like to add to this thread is this game feels a lot more static than Daggerfall... Where is the randomness in the world? Where are the endless quests ? In Morrowind you have a number of quests that once performed leave the world empty of story. Where is the dynamic world where you feel the big powers going around *even without your intervention*, war being declared in a dynamic way, realtions between guild being changed too... all of that added immensely to the immersion.
Before flaming me I want to let it be know that I *really enjoy this game*. But I think the story that supports the visual impact of the game falls too short. The visuals imply some never ending life in the World of Morrowind. you are free to go everywhere, anywhere. The story is pretty linear with lots of linears side quests to be sure, but definitely with a limited scope. It's like building a jet plane with a powerfull engine and then artificially making is top speed at 80 mph...
Fortunately we have the editor to change this!

A daggerfall feature I miss is how the NPC's would actually mark the location of things on your map, as opposed to them saying "go past that tree, blah blah blah." That made everything a bit easier.
Even though it would be harder to do, I missed the big towns. In daggerfall, there were some rather large towns, and in Morrowing, there are villages heh.
And of course, in daggerfall, you could undress your character lol ;P

I also miss these features and a lot more!.
Remember the taverns? You had to pay to use a bed.
Here you can sleep in any bed on the planet!
Also normal NPCs also used to give quests, here there are only rumours.
The automap of the cities/towns was too goodin daggerfall.
As for the movement , I think ther is a mod at morrowinds-mod.com , by which you can teleport to many cities easily.(Not tried).

Yah, it seems that as computers become more complex, the world of the Elder Scrolls seems to shrink: "Arena" featured all of Tamriel, and "Daggerfall" covered the SW portion of Hammerfell, while "Morrowind" is just an island!
And, as has already been mentioned, the much more limited size of towns, quests, clothing, items --- choices, basically. Morrowind is all about eye-candy. Sure Daggerfall was 2-D and had a massive memory leak, but I'm beginning to appreciate it more and more as I get into it's successor...

Yes, the scope has been reduced but the details are being increased in a direct proportion.
What we have right now is a graphic engine that can simulate a virtual world pretty well. Maybe with the Editor we can make things a bit more dynamic, giving the world more depth...
