Hey ALL!
I've had (SOME WHILE BACK) found some really amazing music on bandcamp that just sets the environment and feel of Thief perfectly, when you play it in the background while you play the game.
It fits the game so perfectly that when i had it playing, i thought it
was the Thief 2 Metal Age soundtrack. Its extraordinary, it wasn't until i alt+tabbed out of the game, and paused VLC that I realised it
was not the games music.

I am talking about two Artists I found on bandcamp one is called TROUM and the other is called Biosphere. Maybe you already know of these two bands, IDK.
The music sounds quite dark and "medieval" in places, so i think it may be more suited to listening along, with the first 3 games than Thief 4. Aside from which i haven't listened to TROUM and/or Biosphere while playing Thief 4 as my computer wont run Thief4. So maybe the music would fit, maybe it wouldn't. That might be something, someone else can try.
I haven't player The Dark Project either.
The only games I've played are Thief Deadly Shadows, and more recently the
NewDark version of Thief 2 Metal Age which i got off GOG.

If find after reading a review for the upcoming Thief movie that it does not:
1. Have TROUM'S "Wit wists fra-qistjan" as its opening/filler Theme.
AND/OR
2. Have the mechanists in it.
Then I will down-prioritize watching there, and, then.

They have more than that. Click all the links. 3/4 of all those links are TROUM. :)
Yes, TROUM have released dozens of albums on Bandcamp, as have Biosphere as well.

I am going to have a good look at that. I think where Thief games did, and need to, shine(like i said I
haven't played Thief 4) is to have decent mesmerizing and captivating Ambient music. I don't know whether the mood of Dark-Ambient is more fitting artistically to Medieval-Steampunk, than Victorian. :)

The stuff on Biosphere's departed glories sounds like the missing music from "Life Of The Party", because it sounds so perfect.
Like I said at one point i had to Alt+Tab from the game pause VLC, then go back in the game. And I thought i had stopped the games ambience with VLC's pause button, but it turns out the music i was hearing
was vlc
not the game. :cool:

Thanks for sharing some good dark ambience! I don't have as much time these days to scour the net for new music as much as I used to so I appreciate it! I think a lot of these tracks would work well in Stalker too.

My issue is his calling it ORIGINAL Thief music for Thief. The only ORIGINAL Thief music was written by Eric Brosius, anything else is music that is similar to it, or might be considered a suitable replacement (if there was a need to replace it), or that has a Thiefy vibe, or might be of use to FM authors, etc.
